Fifteen pastels from La Rochelle cross the Atlantic Ocean to be displayed in the first part of the great exhibition which will include three parts altogether (2013-14-15). Four drawings were presented next to their “duplicates” of the collections of the University of Harvard (Houghton Library). The New-York Historical Society keeps the original watercolors used to engrave the boards for the Birds of America from 1827 to 1838. They are safeguarded as National Treasure in the USA.
